Setting up two-factor authentication

Updated Jul 8, 20263 min read

Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second step to sign-in using an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, 1Password or Authy. You set it up on the Profile page.

Enabling 2FA

  1. On the Profile page, find the two-factor authentication card and scan the QR code with your authenticator app (or enter the key manually).
  2. Enter the 6-digit code from the app and enable.
  3. TDLab shows 10 recovery codes. Save or download them now — they’re only shown once.

Managing 2FA

Once active, you can generate fresh recovery codes, reset the authenticator key, or disable 2FA from the same card.

Signing in

After your password, you’ll be asked for the 6-digit code from your app. You can tick “remember this browser”. Lost your device? Use one of your saved recovery codes instead — each code works once.

Keep your recovery codes safe

Recovery codes are the only way back in if you lose your authenticator device. Store them somewhere secure.
