Following your rules with Account Rules

TDLab Account Rules: rules and adherence for a trading account
Product interface · recorded example. Click to open at full size.

Account Rules is where rules stop being hypothetical. A rule you save from the Rule Simulator becomes an active rule, and every new trade is automatically evaluated against it.

Rule statuses

  • Active — trades are evaluated continuously.
  • Paused — evaluation stops, history is kept.
  • Retired — archived and no longer evaluated.

You can pause, resume, retire, restore, delete, recompute adherence, or open a rule back in the Rule Simulator.

How trades are scored

Each trade is marked against a rule as:

  • Respected — the rule applied and the trade complied.
  • Violated — the rule applied and the trade broke it.
  • Not applicable— the rule didn’t apply.

Adherence is respected ÷ (respected + violated) — not-applicable trades are ignored. This adherence feeds your Discipline Score.

The educational guide to measuring trading plan adherence explains why coverage, applicability and profitable violations must be reviewed beside the percentage.

List and detail

The list shows each rule’s adherence, trades evaluated, violations and simulated impact. The detail page adds an adherence timeline, a cumulative-impact chart, the saved simulation baseline and your most recent violations.
